CAO director training: who, when, and what happens if you do not
Ontario director training is a personal obligation, not a board one. It runs on each director's own clock, and missing it has a consequence the board cannot vote away.
Who it applies to
Under the Condominium Act, 1998 and O. Reg. 48/01, the training requirement reaches:
Every director of an Ontario condominium corporation, whether elected, appointed or acclaimed.
The clock starts when the director takes office, not when the board notices.
How Board Butler tracks it
Each director's deadline is an obligation with their name on it, visible to them and to the president.
The completion certificate is filed against the director's record, and the board's compliance tile counts directors who are current.
A director approaching the deadline is reminded, and the board sees the exposure before the seat is at risk.
