Ontario condo records request requirements
How long an Ontario condominium corporation has to answer an owner's records request, on what form, and what the Tribunal can order.

What this duty is
An owner asking for records is exercising a statutory right, on a mandatory form, and the corporation answers on a mandatory form. The board's view of why they are asking does not enter into it.
The clock starts when the request is received, not when the board next meets. That single fact is behind most late responses: a request arriving the day after a meeting has already used a month of its period by the next one.
Refusing without a reasonable excuse is the expensive path. The Tribunal can order production, order costs, and impose a penalty, and the corporation pays all three out of common expenses.

Who is responsible, and when it is due
The rules pack puts this on the Secretary.
Due 30 days after the date of the triggering event. The period comes from the pack parameter on.records.response_days, so a change in the regulation changes one value rather than the rule.
This duty counts from something only your corporation holds, so it has no worked example from a fiscal year end alone. Inside Board Butler it is dated from your own records.

A duty is met when there is something to show for it. The rules pack requires a document on file, and proof that the notice actually reached owners.
Consequence
What happens if you miss it
The owner may apply to the Condominium Authority Tribunal, which can order production, costs and a penalty of up to $5,000 for a refusal without reasonable excuse.
