What this duty is
A newly elected or appointed Florida director either completes an approved education course or files a written statement, within a set period of taking office.
The 2024 amendments changed both the course length and the continuing education that follows it, so guidance written before then is not safe to rely on.
A director who does not comply is suspended from the board until they do, which makes this a quorum question as much as an education one.

Who is responsible, and when it is due
The rules pack puts this on every director personally.
Due 90 days after the date of the triggering event. The period comes from the pack parameter fl.director.certification_days, so a change in the regulation changes one value rather than the rule.
